Overview
In Liberia, I developed a novel virtual reality based data collection method that extends digital heritage practice into immersive, community-centered environments.
This approach allows elders, heritage professionals, and community leaders to interact with digitized artifacts from their regions and contribute recorded first-person narratives directly into collection databases and institutional exhibitions. By situating interpretation within immersive environments, this method restores interpretive agency to communities and challenges traditional extractive models of knowledge production.
